Jessica Waxman, LMFT
Jessica is a Licensed
Marriage and Family Therapist, who earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the
University of Wisconsin-Madison and her graduate degree in family therapy from
Northwestern University. Jessica provides individual counseling for youth and adults in
addition to couples, family and group counseling.
Prior to entering private practice, Jessica
provided counseling for youth and their families involved in the juvenile justice system.
She also worked as a school social worker at Anshe Emet Day School in Chicago where she
provided individual and group counseling, as well as consultation to parents around a
variety of social, emotional and educational issues.
Personal Statement:
I believe the therapeutic relationship is the foundation to help clients find success in
multiple life domains. I use a holistic, integrative approach and focus on physical
health, in addition to psychological and emotional health. I provide empathy, respect,
honesty and humor to create a safe place to begin the therapeutic journey. I help clients
explore negative core beliefs, detrimental family of origin patterns, maladaptive coping
mechanisms and toxic relationships that seem to prevent individuals from finding peace and
balance in their lives.
